The experience

The tour starts at the Skylon Tower observation deck, where you ride to the top for a full 360° panoramic view of Niagara Falls and the surrounding city. From there, you walk down to the falls themselves with your guide, who shares the history and geology of the site as you move through the area. The walking portion is where you get the close-up shots most visitors come for. The guide knows the best angles and the stories that make the falls more than just water and mist.

After the walk, you board the famous Niagara City Cruises boat, which takes you out onto the river for the view from water level. The boat ride is included in the price, though if you're visiting between December 1 and May 14, you'll experience the 4D Niagara Takes Flight theatre instead. A flying simulation that gives you a different perspective on the falls. Either way, the full experience wraps up in about two hours, and all entry fees are built into your ticket.

The tour is wheelchair accessible throughout, and strollers work fine if you're traveling with infants or small children. Service animals are welcome, and public transit options are nearby if you need them to get to the starting point.
