The guide points out the shoreline, talks about the region's role in Canadian history, and by the time you see the Falls for the first time, you're already oriented. The Niagara City Cruise departs with skip-the-line tickets, which means no queue. You board and head straight out onto the water. The boat takes you right to the base of Horseshoe Falls, close enough that you feel the spray and hear the actual roar of the water. It's the kind of moment that photographs don't quite capture.
