The experience
You leave Toronto in the morning with a live guide who stays with the group for the full eight to nine hours. The coach is air-conditioned and the driver handles the route, so you sit back and listen to the commentary as you head toward the falls. The guide shares the history and geology of the region as you travel, adding context to what you'll see when you arrive.
Once at Niagara Falls, you have a choice: take the Hornblower Niagara Cruise as part of your booking, or skip it and explore on your own schedule. If you cruise, you'll ride out to the base of the falls where the mist hits the boat and the roar fills the air. Journey Behind the Falls puts you in a tunnel carved into the rock, where you stand directly behind the cascading water: a completely different vantage point from the boat or the shore. Skylon Tower rises 775 feet above the falls, with an observation deck and revolving dining room that lets you see the whole landscape spread out below. All three are optional add-ons you can purchase on the day, so you decide what fits your energy and budget.
The route also includes a drive along the Niagara Parkway toward Niagara-on-the-Lake, stops at the Floral Clock (a working timepiece made of flowers), Queenston Heights with views of the Hydro Power Station, and the Whirlpool Rapids where the river's current creates a visible vortex. You end with a complimentary maple syrup tasting at Falls' Flavors, with an optional ice-wine tasting if you want to add that. Return transport to Toronto is included, and the guide is with you the entire day.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 12 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the difference between the Hornblower cruise and Journey Behind the Falls?
The Hornblower Niagara Cruise takes you by boat to the base of the falls where you feel the mist and hear the roar from the water level. Journey Behind the Falls is a tunnel experience where you stand directly behind the falling water, hearing and feeling its power from a completely different angle. Both are optional add-ons you can book on the day.
Can I skip the boat cruise and do the tour without it?
Yes. The tour operates in two versions: with the Hornblower Boat Cruise included, or as a day tour only. You choose at checkout which one suits you, and if you pick the tour-only option, you can still purchase Journey Behind the Falls or Skylon Tower entry separately when you arrive.
How much time do we spend at Niagara Falls itself versus driving around?
The tour is eight to nine hours total and includes multiple stops: the falls viewpoints, the boat cruise (if you book that option), Journey Behind the Falls, Skylon Tower, Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Floral Clock, Queenston Heights, and the Whirlpool Rapids. Your guide structures the day so you see all these sites, with the bulk of time spent at the falls and its immediate attractions rather than in the vehicle.
Is the maple syrup tasting really free?
Yes, the maple syrup tasting at Falls' Flavors is complimentary and included in your tour. An ice-wine tasting is also available if you want to add it on the day.
What's Skylon Tower and why would I go there?
Skylon Tower is a 775-foot observation tower with a revolving dining room and viewing deck that sits right above the falls. It gives you a bird's-eye view of the entire Niagara landscape (the falls, the gorge, and the surrounding region), which is a completely different perspective from ground level. Entry is optional and can be purchased on the day.
