The Experience

You're standing in the lobby of a Dubai mall in 40-degree heat, and the attendant at the desk hands you a thick winter jacket and snow boots without a word — she's done this a thousand times. Ski Dubai is the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East, and it's exactly what it sounds like: a full snow park built inside a climate-controlled dome in the middle of the desert. Your all-day ticket gets you unlimited access to the Snow Park and six different rides — Mountain Thriller, Tubing Run, Giant Ball, Bob Sledge, Bump Cars, and a chairlift that takes you up for a view of the whole place. The chairlift is the one most people mention afterward; you're suspended above the snow, looking down at families sledding and kids building snowmen, and it feels surreal in the best way. Winter gear is provided — jacket, trousers, snow boots, fleece gloves — so you don't need to bring anything except maybe a camera. The tubing run is steep and fast, the bobsled track is shorter but just as fun, and the bump cars are the kind of thing that makes you laugh at yourself. You can leave and come back the same day with the Snow Daycation pass, which means if the heat gets to you, you can step outside, grab coffee, and return without losing your entry.
