The experience
Your pickup starts between 8:00 and 8:30 AM from anywhere within three kilometers of the Chiang Rai Clock Tower. The day opens at Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple, where white facades studded with glass and mirrors catch the light in sharp, geometric patterns. From there you move to Wat Rong Suea Ten, the Blue Temple, its deep blue walls and detailed murals a stark contrast to what you just left. The Black House, Baan Dam, is an art museum built from traditional Thai structures and filled with striking artworks by the artist Thawan Duchanee: a single complex that shifts the day from religious sites into something more contemporary and unsettling.
Mid-morning brings you to the Karen Long Neck Village, where you meet the Karen people and see the brass-ring tradition up close. Lunch happens during the day, and afterward you walk through the Choui Fong Tea Plantation, moving through lush tea fields with views across the landscape. You can taste their teas on-site. The Goddess of Mercy statue (a massive white Guan Yin carved into a hilltop) has an elevator that takes you up inside for panoramic views of Chiang Rai. The day ends at Lalitta Café, a fantasy space built around Thai mythology, with luminous serpents and theatrical lighting. It's designed for photographs and marks a sharp tonal shift from the temples and villages earlier.
The tour runs with a live guide speaking English or Thai, and the vehicle is air-conditioned. Water is provided throughout. Admission fees to individual sites (100 baht for the White Temple, 80 baht for the Black House, 300 baht for Long Neck Village, 60 baht for the Goddess of Mercy, and 60 baht for Lalitta Café) are optional and paid on-site. One option includes all tickets. The other does not. Dietary restrictions like vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free can be accommodated if you note them when booking.
