The class runs five hours in your choice of morning or evening; you get your own wok, an English-speaking instructor, all ingredients, a cookbook and certificate, plus free pickup and drop-off within 3 km of downtown Chiang Mai. Suitable for all cooking levels, and children under 120 cm can attend as visitors (THB300 per child) to enjoy two free dishes without cooking.

The Experience

The class starts at a local market in Chiang Mai where you walk with your instructor, talk to vendors about the spices and ingredients that define Thai cooking, and pick out what you'll need for the day. This isn't a tour of the market—you're there to understand what goes into the dishes you're about to make, and to choose ingredients yourself. Then you head to the cooking venue, a local home set up with one wok per person, and begin selecting which six dishes you want to cook across the different categories. The instructor guides you through each one, sharing techniques and tips as you work.

You cook the full five hours, moving through your chosen dishes at your own pace. The class accommodates all skill levels, so whether you've never held a wok or you cook at home regularly, the instructor adjusts to where you are. A vegetarian option is available if you need it. Bottled water is provided throughout, and you get a welcome snack or seasonal fruit at the start. By the end, you leave with a cookbook, a certificate, and the muscle memory of how to make six Thai dishes in your own kitchen.

Free transportation is included within a 3 km radius of Chiang Mai downtown, so pickup and drop-off at your hotel or residence are arranged—no separate transport to book. If you're traveling with small children, they're welcome to sit in on the class as visitors; children under 120 cm can't cook for safety reasons around the stove height, but they can enjoy two free dishes while you work.
