Half-Day Morning Cooking Class in Chiang Mai: Market to Table
Cook four Thai dishes at your own wok station, guided step-by-step through real techniques
A half-day morning cooking class in Chiang Mai where you shop for fresh ingredients at a local market, then cook four Thai dishes at your own wok station under live instruction in English. Hotel pickup and drop-off within 3 km of Kom Market are included, along with an online recipe book and snacks. You learn proper technique in real time—no TV editing, no shortcuts—with an instructor who answers questions and coaches you through each step.
The Experience
The morning starts at a local food market where you pick out fresh ingredients for the dishes you'll cook. This is not a tour of the market; you're shopping for what you need, learning which vendors have what, and understanding the produce you're about to work with. After the market run, you head to the cooking station.
Each person gets their own wok and workspace. The instructor demonstrates each dish in real time, then you cook it yourself while they watch, correct your technique and answer questions as you go. You'll make four Thai dishes over the 4-hour session. Because it's live instruction—not a video or a demonstration you watch from a distance—you see how long each step actually takes and get feedback on your knife work, heat control and seasoning as you do it. The snacks and bottled water keep you going through the morning.
You leave with an online recipe book so you can remake everything at home, and the class takes photos for their social media gallery. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included if you're staying within 3 km of Kom Market.

What four Thai dishes do I cook in the class?
The class focuses on Thai cuisine fundamentals. The specific four dishes are chosen based on the day's market ingredients and what your instructor emphasizes, so you learn core techniques you can apply to other recipes in the online book you receive.
Do I need cooking experience to join?
No. The class is built for people learning to cook, including those who've never taken a cooking class before. The instructor teaches proper technique from the start and works at a pace that lets everyone keep up.
Is hotel pickup really included?
Yes, hotel pickup and drop-off are included if your accommodation is within 3 km of Kom Market. You'll arrange the exact pickup time when you book.
What happens if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Let the operator know when you book so they can adjust ingredients or suggest alternatives for the dishes you'll cook. The market shopping happens after you've discussed any needs with your instructor.
Can I bring family or friends?
Yes. Each person gets their own wok station and works independently, so you can take the class with others. Groups stay small enough that the instructor can coach everyone.
