The experience

Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park is one of Zanzibar's largest forests, home to red colobus monkeys that exist only on this island, alongside blue monkeys and mangrove trees that grow in salt water. The tour moves through the forest with a guide who points out the wildlife and explains the ecosystem as you walk.

Kuza Cave is where you swim inside the cave itself. The operator notes the rock formations make for strong photographs. From there the day moves to Paje Beach, described as a place for memory pictures, and then to the Rock Restaurant. This restaurant sits partially in the water, so whether you can walk to it or need to wade depends on the tide. You can also book a meal there if you want to eat. The whole day runs eight hours with pickup from your hotel, all transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, park entrance and water included.
