Step-by-step itinerary
Explore caves, beach, and dining
- Visit Kuza Cave and swim
- Swim with sea turtles at Salaam Cave
- Enjoy seafood lunch at The Rock Restaurant
- Relax and walk on Paje Beach
The experience
The day starts at Kuza Cave, one of Jambiani's oldest natural formations, where you'll see limestone caverns, local artifacts and a timeline of Swahili history before swimming in the clear water. From there you move to Salaam Cave, just off Kizimkazi Beach, where the main draw is swimming with sea turtles in their natural habitat: a moment most travelers book this tour specifically to have.
Lunch anchors the middle of the day at The Rock Restaurant near Michamvi Pingwe, a three-hour stop where you eat a three-course meal of fresh seafood or Swahili specialties while watching the Indian Ocean. The restaurant sits on the water, and the tour notes you can bring someone special and order chilled sparkling wine as the sun sets. After lunch, you head to Paje Beach, known for white sand, shallow water and calm waves: good for snorkeling, swimming or a barefoot walk depending on the tide and your energy.
A guide travels with you the whole day and speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one additional language. The vehicle is air-conditioned, has WiFi on board and is wheelchair accessible, as are all the sites. Bottled water is provided throughout.
What’s included

Is this one for you?Nine hours is a full day commitment that leaves no room for other major activities, but it means you see four distinct sites (two caves, a restaurant and a beach) without rushing any of them. Book this if you want to combine cave exploration, wildlife swimming and a long lunch in one outing. If you prefer a shorter excursion or want to explore other parts of Zanzibar the same day, look for a half-day cave tour instead.
