The experience

What does it feel like to put on a tank and descend into water you've never breathed in before? The dive begins on land with a detailed safety briefing from your SSI instructor, covering essential techniques and equipment use until you feel ready. Then you enter the shallows to practice the skills that matter (how to breathe underwater, how to clear your mask, how to move with control) with your instructor watching close. Only when everyone is comfortable does the real dive begin.

Tenerife's volcanic geology creates the underwater landscape you'll navigate. The formations and the Atlantic currents that shape them are what draw divers back. You'll move through them with your guide, spotting octopuses, rays, schools of fish, and occasionally sea turtles. The small group, never more than 4 divers, means your instructor can adjust the pace and depth to match your comfort, not rush you through a checklist. You're not watching from a boat. You're the one moving through the water, making the decisions about where to look and how long to stay with each moment.

All scuba gear comes with the booking: wetsuit, mask, fins, tank, regulator and buoyancy control device. Dive insurance covers the full experience. Instruction is available in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese or Italian, and children from age 10 are welcome. The dive itself typically lasts around an hour once you're underwater. The full experience, including briefing and practice, runs 3 hours.
