A dive baptism in Tenerife teaches you the basics of scuba over 3.5 hours, starting with an equipment talk on land and moving to a 45-minute guided dive to 8–10 meters. You wear the full suit and gear, descend with an instructor who stays with you the entire time, and learn the rules and hand signals before you enter the water. Transport to Medano and all equipment are included.

The experience

The session splits into two parts: first, an instructor walks you through the equipment piece by piece (what each part does, how to use it, the basic hand signals and safety rules), so you know exactly what to expect when you get in the water. This ground talk removes the guesswork and settles any nerves before you suit up.

Once you're geared up, you head into the water at Medano with your instructor at arm's length. The dive runs 45 minutes and takes you down to a depth between 8 and 10 meters. Your instructor stays with you the whole time, watching your breathing, your hand position, your comfort level, and signaling you through each step. You're not watching someone else dive. You're the one moving through the water, adjusting your buoyancy, and feeling how the equipment responds.

Transport to and from the dive site is included, as is every piece of gear you need. The whole experience runs 3.5 hours from start to finish.
