Step-by-step itinerary
Guided vineyard walk and wine tastings
- Walk through vineyard with guide
- Wine tasting at historical manor house
- Walk from Zorgvliet estate
- Wine tasting at Tokara winery
The experience
The walk meanders through one of Stellenbosch's most beautiful wine valleys, moving between two estates over roughly four to five hours. A registered wine guide leads the route and explains what's happening in the vineyards and cellars at that moment: the seasonal work, the vines at different stages, the decisions being made. You'll stop at a historical manor house overlooking the valley for the first tasting, then continue to Tokara, where the second tasting comes with views across the vineyards, olive trees and the valley floor.
Bottled water, a fruit stick and peanuts are provided along the way. The light lunch rounds out the afternoon. The walk itself is the point: you're moving through the estates on foot, not driving between them, so the landscape and the work of the vineyards stay in view the whole time.
