Start on foot through Lisbon's bustling streets, walking past the Sé de Lisboa Cathedral and into the Alfama district: the neighborhood where narrow lanes climb steeply and the city's oldest character still lives. You'll pass Rossio Square and Praça do Comércio, two of the landmarks that frame the city's center. A professional local guide leads this section, narrating the history and pointing out the details most visitors miss on their own.

From there, board one of Lisbon's iconic trams for a scenic ride that winds through the steep inclines and tight streets the city is known for. The tram clatters along well-worn tracks, offering views of neighborhoods most visitors see only from a distance. This is how locals move through the city, and the ride itself is part of what makes Lisbon feel different from other European capitals. Note: tram service is temporarily suspended due to a recent incident. When it resumes, this segment will be restored to the tour.

Next comes a tranquil boat trip from downtown Lisbon down the Tagus River to Belém. The water gives you a different angle on the city. You'll see the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Christ the King statue from the river, and the journey itself is a break from walking.
