The experience
You get picked up from Iquitos airport or your hotel and head straight into the action. Day one starts at Nanay Market, then moves into wildlife viewing by boat: monkey spotting on Monkey Island, a fishing excursion, and pink dolphin watching on the Amazon River itself. You'll swim in the river in the afternoon, then hike into the jungle after dark to spot caiman. Dinner and a bed at Maniti Eco Lodge follow.
Day two opens with sunrise on the Amazon, followed by a jungle hike to the Giant Ceiba Trees. The afternoon brings a boat cruise, a visit to the Yaguas Tribe, and a viewing of the Victoria Regia water lilies before the guide drops you back at your hotel or airport. The lodge provides rubber boots, fishing poles, and all gear. Meals are breakfast and dinner both days. A 22-meter swimming pool sits at the lodge if you want to rest between excursions, and WiFi runs 24/7.
You can add a zipline excursion to the standard itinerary at checkout. The guide leads in English or Spanish, and the tour welcomes children from age one.
