The experience
The day starts with pickup from your Marbella hotel and a drive to Tarifa's ferry port. The express ferry crosses the Strait in under an hour, and your guide meets you in Tangier's arrival hall to begin the tour. A camel ride on the beach comes first, then a scenic drive along the Mediterranean coast to Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet at a lighthouse. Five minutes inland sits Hercules Caves, where the rock formations open onto a natural window framing the sea.
After the coastal stops, you walk through the Medina with your guide, moving through narrow streets lined with stalls and local life. Lunch is Moroccan food eaten in the Kasbah quarter, and afterward the walking tour continues through the old fortification and its surrounding neighborhoods. You pass the Grand Mosque and the Spanish quarter, and can request a visit to the American Legation if you want. The pace is yours: your guide adjusts to what interests you, and mint tea on a terrace is part of the rhythm of the day.
The return journey reverses the morning route: an hour's drive back to Tarifa, then the ferry crossing again, and an hour back to your hotel. The whole day runs ten to eleven hours door to door. Private transport means no waiting for other travelers, no shared stops, and no schedule pressure beyond the ferry times.
