The Experience
Your driver picks you up in Marbella and takes you to Tarifa, where you board an express ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar. The crossing lasts about an hour; when you arrive in Tangier, your guide is waiting at the terminal with a sign bearing your name. From there, the day unfolds as a private tour—no shared groups, no set itinerary you have to follow at someone else's pace.
The stops move through Tangier's layers. You walk the Kasbah, the historic fortress with narrow streets and ancient walls that overlook the city. You visit the Mohamed V Mosque, a 20th-century landmark near the port with traditional Islamic tile work and a tall minaret. Perdicaris Park offers a break—gardens, palm trees, a pond with ducks—before you head to Cape Spartel, the coastal promontory where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, marked by its lighthouse. Then comes Achakkar Beach, where you ride a camel along the shore, a moment most travelers come to Morocco to have. Lunch happens during the day, and you also get entry to the Caves of Hercules, the legendary coastal cave with rock formations and views, plus the Nahon Synagogue, a restored 17th-century building that holds the city's Jewish heritage. Before the return ferry, you walk through Petit Socco, the historic market square in the old Medina, and browse Place du Grand Tanger if time allows.
The return ferry departs when your guide arranges it, and your driver meets you in Tarifa to drive you back to Marbella or another location you request.
