The experience
How do you see Tangier without spending the day herded through the same stops as everyone else off the ship? A private guide and your own vehicle mean you set the rhythm. You'll start at Parc Perdicaris, a natural park with Atlantic views and shaded paths where your guide shares local history, then move to Cap Spartel for panoramic views over the Medina. Achakkar Beach is next: a wide sandy stretch where you can walk, photograph, and take an optional camel ride along the water before heading inland.
The Caves of Hercules sit on the Atlantic coast with rock formations and myths attached. You'll have time to explore and shoot photos without a guide rushing you through. From there you move into the old city: the Kasbah's narrow streets and traditional architecture, the Medina's winding markets and local shops, and stops at the Musée de la Kasbah (Moroccan art and artifacts), the Tangier American Legation Museum (the only U.S. National Historic Landmark outside the United States), and the Moshe Nahon Synagogue, one of the city's historic Jewish sites. Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French, or another language, and the air-conditioned vehicle keeps you comfortable between stops.
Six to seven hours is enough to see the landmarks without rushing, though you won't linger for hours at any single place. The tour includes private transportation from the port, your guide, bottled water, WiFi on board, and the camel ride. If you want a traditional Moroccan lunch, you can arrange it at checkout. Gratuities are separate.
