Jungle trails, underground cenote, canopy flight

An ATV and zipline activity in the Mayan jungle combines 450-cc quad bike riding on rugged trails, a swim in a cave-type cenote with stalactites and stalagmites, and a zipline flight over the treetops. The six-hour outing includes a certified guide in English or Spanish, bottled water, and hotel pickup. Choose between riding solo or double on the same ATV.

Step-by-step itinerary

ATV ride, cenote swim, and zipline

  • Board 450-cc ATV quad bike
  • Venture into Mayan jungle trails
  • Take break to swim in cenote
  • Appreciate stalactites and stalagmites
  • Fly over treetops on zipline

The Experience

You board a 450-cc ATV and head into the jungle on intense trails built for the bikes and the riders. The power of the quad handles the terrain—mud, roots, steep sections—and the guide leads the way through the Mayan forest. Halfway through the ride, you stop at a closed cave-type cenote to swim. The water sits inside the rock, surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites that the ancient Maya called the territory of Xibalba, the underworld deity. It is a break from the adrenaline and a moment to cool off before the second half of the route.

After the cenote, you ride back out to the treetops. The final part of the day is the zipline—you fly over the canopy and see the jungle from above before the plunge down. The whole outing runs six hours from pickup to return, and the guide stays with the group throughout. Bottled water is provided, and an air-conditioned vehicle handles the transport to and from the trailhead.

What’s included

  • A certified guide in English or Spanish.
  • a 450-cc ATV (solo or double, depending on your option choice).
  • bottled water throughout the day.
  • hotel pickup and return in an air-conditioned vehicle.

Is this one for you?Book the solo ATV option if you want to handle the jungle trails and the terrain yourself; choose the double if you prefer to share the ride and the experience with a travel partner. Either way, the six-hour intensity—rugged riding, cenote swim, zipline—suits riders who want adrenaline and a break in the water, not a leisurely tour.

Top questions

Can I ride the ATV alone or do I have to share it?

The ATV and Zipline activity offers two options at checkout: a solo ride on your own 450-cc quad, or a double where two riders share one ATV. Both follow the same jungle route and cenote swim.

What is the cenote like on this ride?

The cenote is a closed cave-type pool with stalactites and stalagmites inside the rock. You swim in it during the midway break before continuing the jungle trails.

How long does the whole activity take?

The ATV and zipline outing runs six hours total, including the jungle ride, the cenote swim, the zipline, and transport to and from your hotel.

What level of riding skill do I need?

The trails are intense and rugged, so you should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness to handle the ATV and the terrain. The certified guide leads the group and adjusts the pace.

Is hotel pickup included?

Yes, an air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your hotel and returns you after the activity ends.

What is the minimum age to do this?

Children are welcome from age 8 and up. Pregnant travelers are not recommended for this activity due to the intensity of the riding and the physical demands.
