Step-by-step itinerary

Jungle ATV, ziplines, and cenote swim

  • Pickup from hotel or meeting point
  • Drive ATV through jungle trails
  • Ride 3-zipline circuit
  • Swim in cenote Verde Lucero
  • Jump into cenote from zipline or platform
  • Enjoy traditional Mayan snack

The Experience

You start with pickup from your Playa del Carmen hotel or a central meeting point, then head inland to Extreme Adventuring Cancun, the eco-adventure park along Ruta de los Cenotes. The 30-minute ATV ride kicks off on muddy, dusty and bumpy trails designed to test your control—not a smooth cruise. After the ride, you move straight to the zipline circuit: three separate lines that take you above the jungle canopy, each one a different angle and height. Between the ziplines comes the skyboard, a balance activity that hangs you over the treetops.

The cenote Verde Lucero sits in the middle of the jungle, and you reach it after the ziplines. You can jump in from a platform, launch off one of the ziplines directly into the water, or walk down stairs to the edge and swim. The freshwater is cool and clear—a genuine sinkhole, not a pool. You get time to float and recover from the adrenaline before the guide leads you back to the park.

Before heading to your hotel, you stop at a Colonial Hacienda called Reserva Palacios for a traditional Mayan snack and a tequila tasting. The whole day runs about six hours from pickup to drop-off. ATV insurance is included, and the guide handles safety briefings in English or Spanish. Bring a towel and a change of clothes; personal cameras and phones are not allowed during the activities for safety reasons.

Is this one for you?Choose the solo ATV option if you want to control the ride yourself and have a full license; pick the shared ATV if you want a companion or prefer not to drive, or if you're traveling with a teenager aged 16 or 17. Morning departures fill faster, so book early if you want to avoid the afternoon heat on the trails.

Top questions

Can I ride an ATV solo, or do I have to share?

You can choose a solo ATV or a shared one at checkout. Solo riders must be 18 or older; shared ATVs allow a second rider aged 16 or older with a paid adult. Both options include hotel pickup or a central meeting point.

What is cenote Verde Lucero like when you get there?

Cenote Verde Lucero is a natural freshwater sinkhole surrounded by jungle. You can enter by stairs, jump from a platform, or zipline directly into the water. It is a genuine cenote, not a constructed pool, and the water stays cool year-round.

Is this activity safe for kids, and what's the age limit?

Children from age 4 can participate in the ATV ride, ziplines, cenote swim and skyboard, but must be accompanied by a paid adult. Minimum height is 1 meter (3.2 feet). The activity is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, recent surgeries, or poor cardiovascular health.

What happens if I'm too heavy or too tall for the ziplines?

Maximum weight for the ziplines is 120 kg (265 lb) and maximum waist size is 1.24 m (49 inches). If you fall outside these limits, you can still ride the ATV and swim in the cenote, but will not be able to zipline.

How long does the whole experience take, and does it include travel time?

The activity itself runs about six hours from pickup to drop-off, but this does not include travel time from your location to the park. Travel time varies depending on traffic and your hotel location, so plan for extra time on either end.

What's included in the price, and what do I need to pay extra for?

The price includes the ATV ride, three ziplines, skyboard, cenote entry and swim, hotel pickup or meeting point transfer, park entrance, ATV insurance, a Mayan snack and tequila tasting at the hacienda. Locker rental, additional beverages, photos and souvenirs cost extra.
