The experience
The day starts with pickup from your Amman hotel around 8am and a one-hour drive to Madaba. You'll visit St. George's Greek Orthodox Church to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land, then the Martyrs and Burnt Churches. At 10am you reach Mt. Nebo, where the summit gives a panorama across the Jordan Valley. Jericho is usually visible from the top, and Jerusalem shows on very clear days. The site marks the traditional location where Moses viewed the Promised Land.
From Mt. Nebo, the route takes you to Yardenit, the baptism site of Jesus Christ on the Jordan River. At 3pm you head to the Dead Sea, where you have about an hour to float and relax on the beach before the drive back to Amman, with hotel drop-off around 7pm. The private vehicle means no shared stops or group waits. Your driver handles the route and timing.
Entry fees to the churches, Mt. Nebo, Yardenit, and the Dead Sea resort are not included and must be paid on-site. Lunch and other meals are your own arrangement. Note that the Al-Mujib Siq Trail mentioned in some versions of this tour is closed from November through March, so winter departures skip that section. The operator is not responsible for any unexpected site closures due to weather, maintenance or other reasons.
What’s included

- transport in an air-conditioned private vehicle.
- English-speaking driver for the full eight hours.

Top questions
What exactly is the mosaic map at St. George's Church in Madaba?
St. George's Church holds an ancient Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land, one of the oldest surviving maps of the region. It dates to the 6th century and shows towns, landmarks and geographical features in intricate tile work.
Can I actually see Jerusalem from Mt. Nebo?
On very clear days, yes: Jerusalem is visible from the Mt. Nebo summit along with the Jordan Valley and Jericho. The view depends on weather and atmospheric conditions, but the panorama of the Holy Land is the main reason the site matters historically and spiritually.
How much time do I get at the Dead Sea?
You have about an hour at the Dead Sea beach to float and relax before heading back to Amman. The timing is built into the eight-hour tour so the return to your hotel happens around 7pm.
Are meals included in this tour?
No, lunch and other meals are not included. You'll need to arrange your own food, though the driver can suggest stops or you can bring your own provisions.
What if I want to be picked up from somewhere other than my Amman hotel?
Pickup and drop-off are included from Amman city hotels. If you need pickup from elsewhere, extra charges apply and should be arranged when you book.
