Make three Tuscan pastas and almond biscuits from scratch, then eat what you cooked

A four-hour cooking class in Tuscany where you learn to make handmade pici pasta, ravioli, seasonal dishes and cantucci biscuits from a local cook, then taste all four courses with wine. The class is hands-on (you do the cooking, not watch it), and ends with a meal of what you've prepared. Recipes are included so you can make the dishes at home.

The experience

The class runs about four hours and centers on making three traditional Tuscan pastas by hand. You'll learn pici with garlic sauce and ravioli from a local cook who teaches the techniques she uses at home, then move on to a seasonal dish and the almond cantucci: the crisp biscuits Tuscans dunk in wine. You're the one at the counter doing the work, not observing from the side. An apron is provided.

Once everything is made, you sit down to taste all four courses. Wine is included (one glass per person during the meal), and the cook shares the recipes so you can recreate the dishes in your own kitchen. The class is led by local women who grew up cooking this food, not instructors teaching from a script.

Is this one for you?Book this class if you want to actually cook, not watch a demonstration. You'll spend the four hours at the counter making pasta by hand and learning the techniques a local cook uses, which is what makes it possible to recreate the dishes once you're home.
