The experience
You arrive at a family-run cooking school in the hills of Sorrento, picked up from your hotel. A local chef walks you through the fundamentals of making gnocchi or fresh pasta by hand: the techniques that define Sorrento's food culture. You'll learn how the dough comes together, how to shape it, and what separates a proper pasta from a rushed one. The school covers the history and territory behind what you're making, not just the mechanics.
Once you've finished cooking, you move to a panoramic terrace where Mount Vesuvius rises across the bay. You sit down to eat the gnocchi, ravioli or fresh pasta you've just made, alongside a typical local starter of cheese, salami and vegetables. A meatball or eggplant parmigiana follows, then a Neapolitan dessert. A glass of DOC wine comes with the meal, and you spend the afternoon sipping it while the view settles in. Bottled water is provided throughout.
The class runs in English or Italian depending on your preference. If you have coeliac disease or follow a dairy-free diet, the school arranges a fully adapted version of the same class: the pasta, the sides, the dessert, all modified to your needs without changing the experience itself.
