The experience
The farm sits in the heart of Chianti Classico, surrounded by rows of vines, olive groves, and vegetable gardens: the setting where a Tuscan family has lived for generations. You're picked up from your hotel or apartment in Siena and driven there, so no need to arrange your own transport. Once you arrive, you roll up your sleeves and start cooking. A local Tuscan woman teaches you the traditional recipes and techniques as you go: how to make bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, how to roll out pasta from scratch using the old-fashioned wooden rolling pin, and how to finish the meal with tiramisu or cantucci biscuits paired with Vin Santo.
The meal you've cooked is served at lunch, eaten at the farm surrounded by the landscape you've been looking at all morning. After eating, you visit a local winery and taste a selection of wines: a natural pairing with the food and the place. The whole experience runs about five hours from pickup to drop-off back in Siena.
