Three recipes, one afternoon in a villa overlooking Positano

A 3-hour cooking class in Positano where you prepare Eggplant Parmesan, Lemon Pasta and Tiramisu from scratch in a local home, then sit down to eat what you made with local wines. Your host is a Cesarine cook: part of Italy's network of home cooks who teach in their own kitchens. You choose a morning or afternoon slot and work through each dish under live guidance in English or Italian.

The experience

You arrive at a villa with a view of Positano and step into the kitchen of a Cesarine host who has opened her home to teach. The class runs three hours, and you spend that time making three dishes: Eggplant Parmesan (layered eggplant, mozzarella and sauce), Lemon Pasta (fresh and bright), and Tiramisu for dessert. Your host walks you through each one, showing you how to build the flavors and handle the techniques that make these dishes work. This is not a demonstration. You're doing the cooking, learning the regional secrets as you go.

Once everything is finished, you move from the kitchen to the table. The meal you prepared is served with local wines, water and coffee. You taste each course you made, and the experience ends there. Cesarine operates across more than 500 Italian cities with over 1000 home cooks. This one happens in Positano, in a private home rather than a restaurant or cooking school.

You can book either a morning or an afternoon departure. Public transportation options are nearby if you need them to reach the villa. The class runs in English or Italian depending on your preference.

Operated by Cesarine: Cooking Class

Is this one for you?Pick the morning slot if you want the class done by early afternoon, or the afternoon option if you prefer to start later in the day. Either way, you're cooking in a working home kitchen with a real host, not in a commercial cooking school, so the scale stays small and the instruction stays personal.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 8 years); Infant (under 4).

What exactly do I prepare during the three hours?

You make Eggplant Parmesan, Lemon Pasta and Tiramisu, working through each recipe from scratch under your host's guidance. The Eggplant Parmesan involves layering the vegetable with mozzarella and sauce; the Lemon Pasta is made fresh; and Tiramisu is the dessert that closes the meal.

What time of day does the class run?

You choose between a morning experience or an afternoon experience when you book. Both are three hours long.
