The experience
You arrive at a Cesarina's home in Verona and take a workstation equipped with everything you need: rolling pins, cutters, a workspace and all the ingredients for the day. The host walks you through three different pasta shapes (dishes like Bigoli con le Sarde, Gnocchi di Patate or similar regional specialties) showing you the hand movements and timing that separate a home cook from someone just following a recipe. Each recipe has its own trick, and you'll learn them by doing, not by watching a demonstration.
After you've shaped and cooked your pasta, you sit down to taste all three dishes. A selection of local red and white wines accompanies the meal, along with water and coffee. The whole experience takes three hours, which gives you time to work without rushing and to linger over what you've made. Cesarine operates in more than 120 Italian cities. This one is based in Verona, and the host speaks English or Italian.
