The experience

You arrive at a local home in Palermo and move straight to a fully equipped workstation where your host (a home cook trained in Cesarine's network) walks you through three recipes handed down through generations. The starter changes with the season; the pasta might be Pasta con le sarde, Spaghetti with tuna-roe or Pasta alla Norma; the dessert could be Cannolo siciliano, Gelo di limone, Cassata or Tiramisu. Your host reveals the tricks of the trade as you work, and you taste each dish as you finish it.

After the cooking ends, you sit at the table with your Italian family and eat everything together. Water, local wines and espresso come with the meal. The whole experience runs three hours, and you can choose a morning or afternoon class depending on what fits the rest of your day in the city.
