The experience

The tour starts at a meeting point in Florence and heads toward Pisa by bus, with your guide introducing the region's history and culture along the way. Once in Pisa, you'll spend time at the Piazza dei Miracoli: the UNESCO World Heritage square holding the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, the Baptistry and the Camposanto Monumentale, all Romanesque monuments built over centuries. You can view the Leaning Tower from the square or climb its 273 steps to the top for views across the surrounding landscape.

Back in Florence, the tour takes you through the city's core on foot. You'll see the Florence Duomo with Brunelleschi's cupola, the Baptistry and Giotto's bell tower in Piazza del Duomo; walk through Piazza della Repubblica, now lined with cafes and shops on the site of the old Roman forum; and reach Piazza della Signoria, ringed by Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery and the Loggia della Signoria's open-air sculpture collection. Ponte Vecchio, the medieval stone bridge lined with jewelers and art dealers, is also on the route. At one of Florence's finest gelato makers, your gelato is free and included.

For smaller groups, the tour operates in a comfortable minibus where the driver also serves as your guide throughout. Larger groups travel by air-conditioned bus. The pace mixes guided stops with free time to walk and explore the streets of Florence on your own.
