The experience
The tour leaves Livorno and heads first to Pisa, where you see the Leaning Tower and the full Piazza dei Miracoli complex: the Duomo and Baptistery sit in the same square, surrounded by the lively streets of the city center with shops, cafés and medieval architecture. From there, the drive to Florence crosses the Tuscan landscape: rolling hills dotted with vineyards, olive groves and small villages that give you a sense of the region beyond the cities.
Once in Florence, you're dropped at Piazza della Repubblica, a central square within minutes of all the major sites. This is where you meet your official guide, who takes you through the city center on foot. The guide shows you the Duomo with its famous dome, the Gothic Santa Croce, and the medieval Basilica of San Lorenzo: each one filled with frescoes and centuries of art. You'll also visit Piazzale Michelangelo, the overlook where the Arno River, Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo fill the skyline, and the square itself has street artists and a replica of Michelangelo's David.
Which attractions you enter is your choice. The Uffizi Galleries holds one of the world's largest art collections (Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci), and the Accademia houses Michelangelo's original David sculpture. The Central Market is a mix of leather goods, souvenirs and Tuscan products, with street food stalls nearby. Your driver and guide both offer recommendations for restaurants, bars and gelato shops, so you're not guessing where to eat. The whole day runs between six and nine hours depending on what you choose to see and how long you linger.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Italian and Portuguese.
What's actually in Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa?
Piazza dei Miracoli holds the Leaning Tower, the Duomo, the Baptistery and the Cemetery: all in one square. The tower is the bell tower for the cathedral, and the whole complex is surrounded by the lively center of Pisa with shops, cafés and historic streets.
Can I skip some attractions and spend more time in Florence?
Yes. You decide which attractions to enter once you're in Florence. The guide takes you through the city center, but whether you go inside the Uffizi, the Accademia, the churches or the market is entirely your choice, so you can spend as much or as little time as you want at each stop.
Is the official guide included in both tour options?
The official guide in Florence is included in the "Florence with Official Guide" option. The basic "A Day in Pisa and Florence" option includes the driver and the route but not the guide. You explore Florence on your own or with a guide you arrange separately.
How much time do I actually spend in each city?
The tour is flexible, but you'll see Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli in the morning, then drive through Tuscany to Florence for the afternoon and early evening. The total day runs six to nine hours depending on how long you spend at each site and which attractions you choose to enter.
Is lunch included, or do I need to find a restaurant?
Lunch is not included in the tour price, but your driver and guide recommend restaurants, bars and gelato shops throughout Florence. L'Antico Vinaio is famous for its schiacciata sandwiches, and the Central Market has street food and regional specialties.
