The experience

Our driver, Antonio (who somehow knew every shortcut), picked us up right at our hotel and within half an hour we were winding along those cliff roads everyone talks about. The windows were down and I caught this salty breeze mixed with lemon: honestly, I didn’t expect to notice that. We stopped for a quick photo where the sea just drops away below you. Walking down through Positano’s narrow lanes felt almost like being backstage somewhere: shopkeepers chatting in Italian, sandals hanging from doorways, a little dog sleeping on a step. Antonio told us to try the granita at a tiny stand near Spiaggia Grande. It was sharp and sweet and melted fast in my hand.
