The experience
How do you fit five towns into one day without feeling herded? A private driver and an eight-hour window solve it. You're picked up at your hotel and driven in an air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz to Positano first, the vertical town famous for linen and handmade sandals. The driver stays with the vehicle while you walk the pedestrian shopping area, visit the Roman Villa near Spiaggia Grande, or step inside the Church of Santa Maria Assunta to see the majolica dome and the 13th-century Byzantine icon of the Black Madonna. How long you stay is yours to decide.
From there the route moves to Praiano, then Furore with its fjord, before reaching Amalfi itself: one of the four medieval maritime republics and the center of paper production in the 9th century. The Cathedral facade and the Paper Museum are there if you want them. If not, the town center is yours to wander. Ravello comes last, a medieval hilltop town known for music and villas, where you end the day with a quiet walk and views back down the coast. The driver provides commentary on the history and legends throughout, but the stops themselves are unscheduled: you control how much time each place gets.
The vehicle is wheelchair accessible, and specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with small children. Service animals are welcome. Because it's a private tour, the driver adjusts to your pace and interests: no group waiting, no fixed departure times from each stop.

Is this one for you?Eight hours is enough to visit all five towns without skipping any, but not enough to linger for hours in one place or add a separate meal stop. If you want to spend a full afternoon in a single village or take a long lunch break, a shorter itinerary or a different day would suit you better.
