The Experience

You start from your hotel in central Rome and ride in a private Mercedes with up to seven others toward the Bay of Naples. The drive takes the morning, and when you arrive at Pompeii, a guide meets the group and leads you into the archaeological site. For two hours, you walk the preserved streets of the ancient Roman city—the Forum, grand villas, the plaster casts of residents caught in the eruption—while the guide explains what daily life looked like before Vesuvius. The guide answers questions and provides historical context at each stop, so the ruins become a narrative instead of a collection of broken walls.

After Pompeii, the driver takes you to Sorrento, a coastal town perched on cliffs above the Bay of Naples. You have free time to walk the narrow streets, look at the colorful architecture, and sit in the town center. This is when most travelers eat lunch (not included) and try the local Limoncello. The bay views are there whether you stand still or move, so the pace is entirely yours.

The return journey to Rome happens in the afternoon, and you arrive back at your accommodation by evening. Bottled water is provided during the day, and the vehicle is air-conditioned throughout.
