The Experience

The day starts with hotel pickup at 8am and a drive to Bali Swing, where you choose from four single swings, a tandem swing, and bird and chicken nest setups ranging from 10m to 78m above ground. Each swing overlooks the river, tropical greenery and a waterfall — the height and angle shift what you see. You get ten separate swing activities to work through, each with its own setup, so the time there is spent moving between them rather than waiting in line. Lunch is served at the swing location before you leave.

From there the route moves north to Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, a 27-acre forest in Padangtegal that houses over 400 long-tailed macaques divided into four groups across different zones. The sanctuary is both a cultural site and a working village space, operated by the local community. You walk the grounds on your own pace; the monkeys are accustomed to visitors but the forest itself sets the rhythm. Next is Ubud Palace, the royal residence built in the early 1800s and still occupied by the royal family. The palace sits on the main Jalan Raya Ubud road, so it anchors the center of the town — the art market and restaurants are steps away if you want to move around the area.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace comes next, a high roadside viewpoint where the terraced paddies spread down the slopes in front of you. The location is cool and breezy, and it is designed as a photo stop. The final site is Tegenungan Waterfall, a 20m drop in the Petanu river near Kemenuh village. The whole day runs 9 to 10 hours door to door. On the drive you pass Batuan Temple and Celuk Village, a gold and silversmith center, though these are brief stops rather than scheduled visits.
