The experience

The tour starts with a half-day in Jaipur after your arrival: your driver picks you up and takes you to your hotel, then a guide leads you through Birla Temple, the Albert Hall Museum, M.I. Road's bazaars and the Raj Mandir cinema. The next full day covers Jaipur's main sights: City Palace, Jantar Mantar (a UNESCO site of astronomical instruments), Hawa Mahal, Royal Gaitor and Jal Mahal, before you return to your hotel.

Day three is the drive west to Jodhpur, with a break in Pushkar to visit the Brahma Temple and walk around Pushkar Lake before continuing to the Blue City. On day four, a guide takes you to Mehrangarh Fort, perched on a hill above Jodhpur, and Jaswant Thada, a white marble memorial. Then you drive southeast toward Udaipur, stopping at the Ranakpur Jain Temple, an architectural site with intricate carvings, before settling into your Udaipur hotel.

Day five is a full day in Udaipur: your guide walks you through Jagdish Temple, City Palace, a boat ride on Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake and Saheliyon ki Bari, a garden built for the royal ladies. On the final day, your driver takes you back to Jaipur with a stop at Chittorgarh Fort, one of India's largest, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You arrive in Jaipur and are dropped at your chosen location.

Is there time to shop or rest during the tour?

Yes. In Jodhpur, after settling into your hotel, you have free time to explore the Clock Tower and bazaars. In Udaipur, after the guided tour, you can shop, visit other sites or rest at your hotel before your driver returns you. Breakfast starts at 8 or 9 AM on full-day sightseeing days, giving you flexibility in the evenings.
