The Experience

The first thing I remember is the thrum of engines under my feet, salty spray coming up as we shot away from the Gateway of India. Mumbai looked almost gentle in the morning haze — pigeons everywhere, and our driver had handed me cold water before I even realized I was thirsty. The speedboat cut across the harbor in what felt like no time (definitely not the three hours I’d read about), and honestly, I grinned like a kid.
