The Experience

The ferry leaves the Gateway of India and you realize, about halfway across the water, that you're about to walk into a 1,400-year-old cave carved by hand from solid rock. You move at a steady pace with your guide, stopping to look at the smaller caves and the views back toward Mumbai's skyline across the water. By the time you're heading back to the ferry, you've been on the island maybe two to three hours, and the return trip gives you another chance to sit and let it settle.
