The experience

The safari starts with pickup from your Levi accommodation and a short ride to the riverside hideout where you'll suit up. Winter gear is provided (overall, boots, balaclava, helmet and mittens), so you just show up. Once you're on the snowmobile, the 2 hours of riding unfolds through terrain only a local knows: frozen lakes wide enough to open up on, rivers you cross, and forest trails that shift from open to dense. Your guide rides with you and can adjust the pace on the fly. Want to push it? The private group means no one's holding you back. Want to stop for photos or just take in the quiet? That's your call too.

After the ride, you warm up at the hideout with hot drinks by the fire. If you're game, there's an ice hole for a quick dip: the kind of thing people talk about after. The whole experience runs 3 hours door-to-door. Drivers need a valid license, and the minimum age is 13. If you'd rather ride solo instead of sharing a snowmobile, that costs extra and can be arranged in advance or paid on site.
