The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Levi hotel, then a drive to the snowmobile base. After a safety demonstration, you'll ride a full-size snowmobile through the snowy forest and open terrain around Levi, making stops along the way to take in the landscape and photograph it. Younger children ride on a sled pulled behind the guide's snowmobile, wrapped in warm blankets, so they stay comfortable while you move through the scenery.

Once the adult riding is done, the focus shifts to the children. You'll stop at a specially designed track where kids aged up to 12 can ride their own mini-skidoos: essentially small snowmobiles built for their size. Smaller children get help from a parent or the guide to manage the machine, while older kids navigate the track on their own. This is where the activity changes from watching to doing, and it's the part most children remember. Warm drinks and snacks are served during the excursion to break up the cold.

You'll need a valid car or motorcycle driving license to operate a snowmobile, and you must be at least 18 years old. The activity includes thermal clothing (overall, boots, gloves, woolen socks, scarf and helmet), so you don't need to bring your own winter gear. Two adults can ride one snowmobile, or you can book a single rider supplement for an extra charge. The whole outing, including transport to and from the activity site, takes about three hours.
