Step-by-step itinerary
Zipline and waterfall rappelling adventure
- Get picked up at hotel
- Hike 20 minutes to rappel site
- Walk 90 minutes through jungle
- Rappel 250 ft down waterfall
- Return to hotel
The experience
You get picked up at your hotel and driven to the park, where a Belizean guide leads you through the setup. The day splits into two parts: the zipline crossing and the rappelling. The zipline itself stretches 2½ miles across the canopy, giving you an unbroken view of the rain forest from above. It is the longest in Belize, and you operate it yourself: no sitting and watching while someone else steers.
The rappelling comes after a hike into the park. A 20-minute walk brings you to Bocawina Waterfall, where you rappel 100 feet down the rock face. If you want more, the trail continues for 90 minutes through the jungle past emerald pools and views toward the Caribbean Sea, ending at Antelope Falls. That descent is 250 feet and suited to climbers with more experience. Your guide assesses your comfort level and fitness and helps you choose which one fits your day.
Lunch and bottled water are provided, and the air-conditioned vehicle handles the transport back to your hotel when you finish. The guide speaks English and Spanish, so language is not a barrier to instruction or questions along the way.

Is this one for you?The 5 to 6 hour commitment means you can fit this into a free afternoon or morning in Hopkins, but plan the rest of your day around it: the hike, zipline and rappels leave little time for other activities. Choose Antelope Falls if you have climbing experience. Bocawina Waterfall works for first-timers.
Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How difficult is the water rappelling at Bocawina?
Bocawina Waterfall is a 100-foot rappel designed for beginners, so no prior climbing experience is needed. Antelope Falls is a 250-foot descent suited to more experienced rappellers. Your guide will help you decide which one matches your fitness and comfort level.
What happens during the 90-minute jungle hike?
The hike from Bocawina Waterfall to Antelope Falls takes you through the forest past emerald pools and opens onto views of the Caribbean Sea. It is part of the route to the second rappel site, not a separate activity.
Is the zipline something I operate myself, or does a guide control it?
You operate the zipline yourself. The 2½-mile crossing gives you control of your speed and descent across the canopy. Your guide will brief you on the equipment and technique before you start.
What's included in the price, and what do I need to bring?
Hotel pickup, lunch, bottled water, all fees and taxes, and the air-conditioned vehicle back to your hotel are included. Bring comfortable hiking shoes, a change of clothes (you will get wet on the rappels), and sunscreen. Specialized infant seats are available if you are traveling with a baby.
