Sourdough Pasta Workshop in Scottsdale: Make & Eat Fresh Pasta
Roll, shape, and cook pasta you made from scratch in 2.5 hours
A handmade sourdough pasta workshop in Scottsdale where you mix, knead, roll and shape fresh pasta dough using a 19-year-old sourdough starter, then cook it with a homemade sauce and eat the meal together. No experience needed. Groups stay under 10 and children from age 6 are welcome. You leave with a printed recipe and a portion of starter to use at home.
The experience
The workshop starts in a home kitchen in Scottsdale with a welcome drink and fresh sourdough bread to taste. Then you meet the 19-year-old starter that forms the base of the pasta dough. The operator will show you how to mix flour, eggs, and the starter until the texture is right. You'll knead it by hand, let it rest, then roll and shape it into pasta. The whole process takes about 2.5 hours from introduction to the last bite.
Once the pasta is shaped, you watch it cook, then help prepare a homemade sauce to go with it. The meal is shared. You sit down together with the other participants to eat the pasta you just made. Before you leave, you get a printed recipe and a portion of starter to take home, so you can recreate the dish in your own kitchen. Light refreshments like coffee and tea are available throughout.
Groups are small, capped at 10 people, and no prior cooking experience is required. Children from age 6 can join. The kitchen is wheelchair accessible, and all areas and surfaces accommodate mobility needs.
