The light changes fast on the canyon walls, so bring a camera and water. Your tour includes the park entrance fee, which saves the negotiation at the gate, and you'll get a granola bar and bottled water on the bus, though you might want to pack more snacks or grab lunch at the lodge if you're hungry.

The return trip follows Historic Route 66 back toward Las Vegas.
