- Visit Sand Hollow State Park viewpoint
- Gaze at 360-degree Zion and surroundings
The experience
You arrive at the Hurricane location ready to drive. The activity runs two hours and puts you behind the wheel of a UTV built for rock crawling, not a passenger seat. A licensed guide is with you, and the vehicle fits two people minimum, so you can bring a passenger or split a booking with someone else. Helmets, goggles, bottled water and ice come with the rental, and a damage waiver is included in the price.
The terrain is West Rim: steep inclines, rocky trails, and formations that demand real driving skill. Beginners and experienced rock crawlers both go, but the route itself does not change for experience level. You choose the pace and how hard you push the vehicle. The guide is there to help you navigate, not to drive for you.
The finish point is the top of Sand Hollow State Park, where the view opens to 360 degrees: Zion to the north, Hurricane cliffs to the east, the Arizona Strip south, and Pine Mountain and Snow Canyon to the west. From there you head back down and return to the starting point.

Is this one for you?The two-hour drive is continuous rock crawling on steep terrain, so it demands active steering and focus the whole time, not a scenic cruise with long stops. Book this if you want to operate the vehicle yourself and handle the challenge of the route. If you prefer to watch someone else drive, a standard tour is a better fit.
