The Experience
Salt on my lips, sun on my back—there’s nothing quite like skimming across the Persian Gulf with the city skyline behind you. We kicked off at the marina, where our instructor handed out life jackets and gave us a quick rundown. The water was warm that morning, and I could smell sunscreen mixed with sea spray as we revved up the engines.
First stop: right in front of the Burj Al Arab. That sail-shaped hotel looks even more surreal from the water. Our guide snapped a few photos while we caught our breath—honestly, I didn’t realize how much fun it’d be just pausing there, waves gently rocking the jet ski under me. From there, we zipped over to Atlantis at the tip of Palm Jumeirah. You get this wild view of the palm-shaped island that you just can’t see from land. On the way back, I noticed a couple of local fishermen waving as we passed by—felt like a real slice of Dubai life.
