The whole experience runs about three and a half hours.

The Experience
The boat leaves from a Zanzibar hotel and heads northeast toward Mnemba Island Atoll, where you'll enter the water to swim with wild dolphins in their natural habitat. This is not a controlled encounter—the dolphins are free to move, and the guide positions the group to increase the chance of interaction without disturbing them. Once the dolphins move on or you've had your time in the water, the boat takes you to the coral reefs of the atoll, where you put on snorkeling equipment and spend time exploring the underwater landscape among tropical fish and coral formations.
The group stays small, which means the guide can watch the water and adjust the day based on where the dolphins are moving and how the snorkeling conditions look. You'll have time to relax on the boat between swims, and the crew brings out fresh seasonal fruits and bottled water. The dhow-style boat itself is part of the experience—traditional in design and built for moving through these shallow, clear waters without disturbing the marine life below.
Hotel pickup and drop-off from selected Zanzibar accommodations are included, so you don't arrange your own transport to the departure point. Snorkeling equipment is provided, and the guide speaks your language—English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of the other languages offered. Conservation fees for the marine area are built into the price.
