The day starts at 4am with pickup from your Negombo hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle for the drive to Wilpattu. You'll arrive by 7am, eat a packed breakfast, and head straight into the morning safari. The park sprawls across dense dry-zone forest dotted with natural willus: shallow lakes that draw wildlife. Your guide watches for leopards, sloth bears, deer, wild boar and crocodiles, and points out the rich birdlife that moves through the canopy.

A picnic lunch at a scenic spot breaks the day around midday. The evening game drive runs from 1:30pm until 6pm, when the light changes and different animals move. You'll return to your Negombo hotel by 8pm.
