You climb the steep staircase carved into the rock face to reach the summit, passing the famous frescoes of celestial maidens painted on the vertical walls. After descending, you move on to a rural village still living in a bygone era, where you learn to cook Sri Lankan food and eat lunch among the locals: a taste of traditions most visitors never reach.

The final stop is Minneriya National Park, where you travel in a 4WD game vehicle with your guide for a chance to see elephants in their natural habitat.
