Minneriya National Park draws hundreds of elephants to its tank during the dry months: a gathering so dense the landscape fills with them. Kaudulla National Park offers another concentration point with herds moving through diverse terrain. Hurulu Eco Park sits quieter, away from the main routes, and holds leopards alongside the elephants if you want something less crowded. Your guide decides which one makes sense for the day you're going, so you're not chasing a rumor.

You travel in a comfortable 4x4 jeep, which means you can cover ground without walking it and stop when something moves into view.
