Hotel pickup happens from Sigiriya, Dambulla or Habarana, and you ride in a private jeep with one English-speaking guide who drives and navigates. The route goes through Minneriya National Park, famous for large elephant gatherings especially in the dry season, though the guide will redirect to a better park if weather or conditions suggest it. Because only two safaris run daily, the guide can focus on the best viewing areas and avoid the routes crowded group tours take.

The safari lasts three to four hours. You get binoculars, a sandwich, fresh fruit and a drink included. The driver knows where elephants congregate and can spot birds and other wildlife as well. The jeep is sized for close-range viewing without the distance of larger tour vehicles, and the guide's flexibility means the day adjusts to what you actually find rather than sticking to a fixed itinerary.

You choose between a Jeep & Driver option or the All-Inclusive package. Pickup and drop-off from Sigiriya, Dambulla and Habarana are included in both. If you need pickup from another city, that can be arranged for an extra charge. The experience suits all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for pregnant travelers. Children from age 6 are welcome.
