Swim to a wreck and see it from inside

Snorkel a submerged wreck off Lanzarote with a live guide in English, Spanish or Italian, meeting at 9 am for a four-hour outing that includes all equipment and a shower afterward. You swim about ten minutes to reach the site, then explore the wreck at 12–18 meters depth; the guide points out angel sharks, rays and other marine life that inhabit the structure. Children from age 14 are welcome.

The Experience

The day starts at 9 am with registration and a full kit of snorkeling gear. Once everyone is suited up, you head to the water and swim roughly ten minutes to the dive site. The wreck sits between 12 and 18 meters down—deep enough to feel like a real descent, but shallow enough that most swimmers manage it without certification. The structure itself is the draw: wrecks collect marine life that open water doesn't, so you'll see angel sharks, rays and species that are hard to spot anywhere else in the region.

The guide stays with the group and can point you toward details—a section of the hull, a corner where rays rest—or let you drift and explore at your own pace. For anyone curious enough to get closer, the wreck is solid enough to touch and circle; the depth and the structure make it feel like a real dive even though you're snorkeling on the surface. The whole water time is built into the four-hour window, so there's no rush.

When you're done, you head back to the meeting point, where a shower and good coffee are waiting. The gear stays with the operator, so you just rinse off and go.

Top questions

How deep is the wreck and do I need diving certification to snorkel it?

The wreck sits between 12 and 18 meters down, which is deeper than most snorkeling but reachable without certification—you're snorkeling from the surface, not diving. The guide stays with the group and can help anyone who needs it.

What kind of marine life will I see at the wreck?

Angel sharks, rays and other species that live on and around the wreck structure are common there. These animals are difficult to see in open water, so the wreck is what draws them and makes them visible to you.

What's included in the snorkeling equipment?

The operator provides all snorkeling gear you need for the outing; you bring nothing except a swimsuit and a towel.

How long is the swim to the wreck site?

You swim about ten minutes from the meeting point to reach the dive site where the wreck is located.

Can children go snorkeling at the wreck?

Children are welcome from age 14 and up. The guide can adjust the pace and depth for younger snorkelers who are comfortable in the water.
