The experience

"You can’t take photos here," our guide said quietly as we shuffled into the mouth of the DMZ 2nd Tunnel. I could feel the air change: colder, damp, a bit metallic. The drive back felt quiet compared to everything else: maybe everyone was tired or just thinking things over. I still think about that first step underground, how silent everyone got for a second before someone cracked a joke about helmets looking silly.
