Seven to nine hours means the day holds the major sites without rushing. You start with a pickup from your Seoul location, then head north to Imjingak Park, where a theme park sits alongside barbed wire fences and historical relics: the Freedom Bridge, which 13,000 prisoners of war crossed in 1953, and a Korean War-era locomotive smokestack abandoned for decades. From there the route moves into the DMZ itself, the military demarcation zone between North and South Korea where military activity is prohibited.

The 3rd Tunnel is the physical centerpiece: a North Korean tunnel extending 435 meters into South Korean territory, possibly built for military purposes. You walk into it, watch a documentary about its discovery, and see Korean War artifacts on display. Dora Observatory comes next, positioned for a close-up view across the border into Gaeseong City and the Gaeseong Industrial Complex. You'll also see the "Propaganda Village," a fake North Korean settlement where lights are manipulated to create the illusion of activity. An English-speaking guide licensed for the DMZ accompanies the whole route and explains the history and current state of the division.
